Near the village of St. Hadrian lies the Monastery Karakalas. The exact date of the founding year of the monastery of St. Demetrius is not known, but there is a description of great wealth in 1696. Very important was the role of the monastery in the siege of Nafplio, and the years of struggle, as was the arsenal of Fighters .
O architectural character of the monastery is fortified. The buildings of the monastery inwardly focussed and is embellished by arches and large adjacent loggia.
The monastery has five churches, Aghia Paraskevi, Agia Irene Chrisovalantou, Panagia Portaitisas, Agios Nektarios and of Saint Ephrem the Syrian.
